CODE OF ETHICS

  1. To represent myself and my CPDT certification mark in an honest and ethical manner in accordance with the CCPDT’s Guidelines for Use.

  2. To provide accurate, truthful advertising and representations concerning my qualifications, experience, performance of services, the preparation of costs of services and expected results.

  3. To act in an honest and ethical manner and work within my professional limits when interacting with the public and providing dog training services.
  4. To refrain from providing guarantees regarding the specific outcome of training.

  5. To develop and apply training programs in accordance with the CCPDT's Mission Statement and Guiding Principles.

  6. To comply with applicable laws, regulations and ethical standards governing professional practice in the state/province and/or country when interacting with the public and when providing dog training services.
  7. To maintain and respect the confidentiality of information obtained from clients in the course of professional activities.

  8. To continue professional development as required for maintaining CPDT credential in accordance with the policies of the CCPDT.

  9. To maintain and respect the confidentiality of the contents of the CPDT credential exam.
